Ernest Wendell Belisle, 74, of Fulton, died Saturday, May 8, 2004, at his home.

He was born September 18, 1929 in Ecourse, Michigan, the son of the late Ernest Joseph and Frances Elizabeth (Normandin) Belisle. On March 19, 1949, he married Alice Rose in Alton, Illinois, she survives of the home.

Other survivors include three daughters, Frances Pehrson of Bunker Hill, Illinois, Georgia Larson of Holts Summit and Kathy Smith of Mokane, three sons, Mark Belisle of Bunker Hill, Scott Belisle and Eric Belisle, both of Fulton, a brother, Robert Belisle of Southgate, Michigan, four sisters, Diane San Filippo of Trenton, Michigan, Frances Williams of Detroit, Michigan, Jean Henderson of Belleville, Michigan and Nina Dorr of Ecourse, Michigan, twenty-five grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, a daughter, a grandson, a brother and a sister.

Mr. Belisle retired in 1970 from the Southern Pacific Railroad. He also had worked for the Illinois Terminal, Wabash and Santa Fe Railroads.

He was in the United States Air Force in 1947.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Fulton. He served as executive secretary and First Counselor of the Elders Quorum.

Services are at 2pm Thursday at Jacoby-Wise Funeral Home in Bunker Hill, Illinois with Perry Lovett officiating. Burial in Woodburn Cemetary in Woodburn, Illinois.

Visitation is from 11am until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
