Isaac, the oldest son of David and Susanna (Bowman) Good, was born January 27, 1833, in Waterloo Co., Ontario, Canada. On September 12, 1854, he was married to Hannah Dettweiler, born May 9, 1835, to Rudolph and Susanna (Bingeman) Dettweiler of Waterloo Co., Ont.
In 1857 they moved to Elkhart Co., Indiana, U.S.A., where Isaac's father had bought 400 acres of land, of which Isaac inherited 80. Soon after the close of the Civil War, in 1866, they came to Noble Twp., Branch Co., Michigan and purchased 120 acres.
Their children were:
Menno born Oct. 14, 1855, in Canada
Rudolph born Feb. 1, 1857 in Canada
Susan born Nov. 8, 1858 in Indiana
David born August 7, 1860 in Indiana

Mr. Good was a wagon maker and farmer. He also operated cider and sorghum mills. These were run by horsepower. He gained quite a reputation for making jelle and molasses.
Sometime after moving to Michigan he was chosen as deacon by the small group of Mennonite Brethern in Christ members in Noble Township who held services in nearby schoolhouses. Later services were held once a month in co-operation with the Mennonites and the Church of the Brethren in the Pleasant Hill Mennonite Church. Mr. Good served in this capacity until his death at his home on June 15, 1900, at the age of 67.
Around 1903 Mrs. Good moved to Burr Oak, Mich., where she and her daughters, Elizabeth (Betsey or Bess) and Mary lived until her death on May 16, 1916, at the age of 81.
