Emma Ackerman Waddington, 63, of Huntsville, passed away Friday. Mrs. Waddington was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Josephine Mathias. Emma was a very talented lady. She enjoyed crocheting, painting, scrap booking and especially cooking and baking for her family. She enjoyed working at Hampton Cove Christian Academy for many years. She was a devoted grandmother to all of her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all of her family. She was her husband's best friend and confidant.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Waddington; sons, Joe Ackerman and wife, Heather, and Mike Ackerman, all of Huntsville; stepchildren, Alisha Waddington and Ted Waddington; grandchildren, Derrick and Rachel Ackerman and Amber Waddington and brother, Anthony Mathias, Jr. and wife, Mildred, of Plano, TX
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Mike MacMahon officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Food Bank of North Alabama.
