Mary "Rosie" Anderson, 92, of Georgetown entered into rest June 23, 2011 in a area hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 22, 1918 to Daniel and Frances (Tanksley)Thomas in Waxahachie, TX. Rosie was a graduate of Houston Tillotson College. She met and married Leroy Anderson. Together they owned and operated the DewDrop Inn in Georgetown.

Rosie moved to Georgetown in 1920. She was an active member of Wesley Chapel A.M.E. She enjoyed her family, playing bingo, and the senior activities at the Hilliard Center.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, and four brothers. She leaves to cherish her memory; daughters, Thedies Hutchison of Georgetown, Melba and her husband Richard Nichols of Georgetown, and June Demas of Pflugerville; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Those who wish to pay their respects may come by the Gabriels Funeral Chapel & Crematory on Friday, July 1, 2011 throughout the day till 6:00 pm. There will not be a family visitation. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 1:00 pm in Wesley Chapel A.M.E., 508 W. 4th St. in Georgetown. Interment will follow in Rocky Hollow Cemetery.
