Born May 13, 1904 in New Point, he was the son of David and Dora (Doakes) Hansel. He lived in New Point for many years. He was married to Ruth L. Blair on May 9, 1946 in Greensburg. She preceded him in death on April 26, 1984. He worked in maintenance at the New Point Stone Quarry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.
Survivors include one nephew, Carl Gay and his wife Carolyn of St. Paul. One sister, Viola Gay, preceded him in death in 1987.
Funeral services will be Saturday at noon at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Vice officiating.
Burial will be in Milford Cemetery.
Visitation will be held beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
