5-Day-Old Boy Tucked in Crib, Alive and Well
A five-day-old baby boy, Roland Moler, Jr., was contentedly tucked in his crib at St. Joseph's Hospital today, but the young mother, Mrs. Lucille Brown Moler, 21, who underwent a Caesarian operation last Thursday morning when her son was born, died shortly after midnight today at the hospital where she had been a patient since the birth of the baby.
Mrs. Moler is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Brown of 403 East Eighth street. She was born December 9, 1908, in Decatur, Ill. Mr. and Mrs. Moler came to Alton last July from Pueblo, Colo., and since that time have resided with her parents on East Eight street.
Following the operation Mrs. Moler's condition was reported as satisfactory and she had apparently been doing well when she suddenly became worse last evening and conditions developed which resulted in her death.
The baby born to Mrs. Moler weighs eight pounds and was reported as being in good health.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. from the residence, 403 East Eighth street. Mrs. Moler was a member of the Presbyterian church and services Wednesday will be conducted by the Rev. Edgar Vance, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the family lot in Oakwood cemetery."
