Orville Ernest Mildren, 81, of Plains, MT, died of natural causes Friday at Brendan House, Kalispell, MT. Born 10 March, 1911, in Reno County, KS, to Betha and Ernest Mildren, he moved to Montana at age 2, when his family homesteaded near Opheim. In 1931, they moved to the Flathead Valley. He served with the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II.
On 2 January 1943, he married Irene Nordtome in Kalispell. She was the daughter of Robert and Inga Nordtome of Kalispell. She preceded him in death on 27 February 1961. He lived in Plains, MT, since 1949, owning and operating the Plains Barber Shop. He was later employed by Diehl Lumber Company until retiring in 1974.
He married May Volger Naumann on 25 April 1964. She preceded him in death on 17 December 1981.
Orville was an active member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church, he helped build the church in Plains. He also was a member and past commander of Horse Plains Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3596 and member of Plains-Paradise Senior Citizens. Survivors include three daughters, a sister, eight grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Delmar and Ora, and a son-in-law, Warren Vacura. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Christian Missionary Alliance Church, with the Rev. Jeff Kingery officiating. Interment will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Glacier Memorial Gardens in Kalispell with military graveside rites.
