Charles Edgar Hawk, a prominent Piketon citizen, died Thursday evening and will be buried Sunday afternoon.
The death of Mr. Hawk removes another of its good and most highly respected citizens. Having resided in this vicinity all of is life, he is well known throughout Pike and adjoining counties. He was a Republican of the old school and held the office of township assessor for many years. He also held various other public offices.
Charles Edgar Hawk was born in Piketon, Aug. 1, 1851. he is one of a family of five children, three boys and two girls. One sister and one brother survive him.
In the year 1880, he was united in marriage to Wealthy Coe and to this union five children were born, three girls and two boys as follows, Mrs. George Pyle of Gallipolis, Miss Lenna, at home, Charles, deceased, Mrs. Earl Vulgamore of Wakefield and Ashley, also at home.
