Irene Aldridge Hinkle

Irene Aldridge Hinkle, 99, of Hendersonville, N.C., died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at Elizabeth House in Hendersonville.

A native of Englewood, she was a former resident of Greer, S.C., for 20 years, and a resident of Hendersonville, N.C., for the past five years. A former employee of the hosiery mills, she was a daughter of the late Charles Dudly and Dortha "Cricket" Cline Pangle, and was preceded in death by her first husband, Elbert Richard Aldridge; her former husband, Lewis Hinkle; and one son, James Paul Aldridge.

Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Margaret Miller Aldridge of Athens; two grandchildren and one spouse, Keith Aldridge and Gail and Jerry Carroll, all of Athens; four great-grandchildren, Shane Carroll, Leia Woodby, Nicki Demonbren and Laura Coleman; three great-great-grandchildren, Logan Carroll, Patrick Carroll and Marjorie Demonbren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Sunrise Cemetery in Englewood.

Pallbearers will be Darin Sykes, Keith Aldridge, Mike Ray, Stephen Coleman, Steve Tayloe and Charles Hurley.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Dr., Suite 8, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
