Bishop Joseph was born January 4, 1918 to the union of Anthoney Joseph and Hattie Polk-Joseph in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was the fourth child born to this union out of six siblings.
Bishop was drafted in the United States Armed Services and was a World War II Veteran. Later, he became a Merchant Marine Seaman and made Queens, New York his home.
Bishop departed this life February 24, 2001 in Queens, New York. He was preceded in death by both his parents; 2 sisters, Rose Joseph-Landry and Geraldine Joseph; and three brothers, Roosevelt Joseph, Milton "Cat" Joseph, Sr., and Willie "Hard Hair" Joseph.
He is survived by one brother, Washington Polk and an abundance of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
