Parents: Robert E. and Mary Ann (Whitaker) Fugate.

He married June E. Frabel on February 10, 1948 in Iron Mountain, Michigan. They moved from Amberg, Wisconsin to Oakland, Oregon in June of 1953 and stayed, becoming a 49-year resident of Oakland.

His hobbies were hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Robert loved everyone and had a good word to say about everyone. His passion for his family and his music will never be forgotten.

Robert passed away in a Roseburg care center.

Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years, June Fugate of Oakland, Oregon; his sons, Thomas R. Fugate and his wife Maxine and Robert G. Fugate; daughter, Ella L. Bishop; sons, Ronald A. Fugate of Sutherlin, Oregon; daughters, Carol J. Moore and Tammie J. Boyd both of Oakland, Oregon; 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Fugate on January 19, 1999 [1990], Mary Fugate on April 8, 1991 and a brother, Clifford B. Fugate on October 25, 1989.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in the Calapooia Free Methodist Church on Church Road in Sutherlin with Reverend Stewart Fowler officiating. Private interment will be held in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Oakland, Oregon.
