LONG--Clara Helen, 96, New Germany, died October 30, 1998, at home. Born August 18, 1902, in Croyle Township, daughter of Michael and Mary (Smith) Weinzierl. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Albert Joseph Long, who died August 21, 1974; son,Harold; Daughter-in-law, Pauline (Machnik) Long; grandson, Jerome Gill; three infant grandchildren; four infant great-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph, Louis, Peter, Andrew and Isadore; and sisters, Catherine Wess and Margaret Wirfel.

Survived by children, Kenneth, married to Jean Fresh; Raymond married to Helen Crocefoglia; Richard, married to Mary Lou Brawley; Grace, wife of John Heinlein; and Barara, wife of Patrick Dumm, all of New Germany; Clair, married to Glenda (Reese) Fresch, Summerhill; Leona, wife of John Schissler, Aberdeen, Maryland; Rosemary, wife of Alfred Gill, Hagerstown, Maryland; Camillus, married to Betty Demko, South Fork; Lois, wife of Robert Whiteford, Mineral Point; Vera, wife of Ronald Noll, Malvern; and Joyce, wife of Thomas Gregorich, Miami, Florida; daughter-in-law, Diana (Davis) Long, Lima, Ohio; 79 grandchildren; 162 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Sister of Theresa Wirfel, Portage. Clara was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society.

Friends recieved from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork, where wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday. Rosary will be recited at 2:30 p.m. Sunday by Altar and Rosary Society. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Germany, Father Dan Wolfel, OSB. Interment, Saint Mary Cemetery, New Germany.
