Mrs. Mowrey was the wife of the late William V. Mowrey who died in 1961.
The daughter of the late Levis and Martha Reese McNelly, she was born in Parkesburg and has lived here all her life. She was cited during the Centennial held in 1972 as the oldest lifelong resident of the town.
Mrs. Mowrey belonged to the First Baptist Church of Parkesburg and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of the Parkesburg Fire Company and the American Legion, post 431.
She is survived by six sons, Howard A., William H., Walter M., C. Amos, Norris L and Frank A. all of Parkesburg, three daughters, Mrs. Marguerite Devlin of town, H. Romaine, wife of Ralph C. Hoopes of West Chester and Ruth A. wife of Wolf M. Bishop of Coatesville, 22 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
