I am confident that the 1870 census-taker misunderstood his name, "Abner" as "Albert." None of the children of Pvt. Paul Abney/Abner and Rhoda Norman had middle names. The ONLY reference to the alleged name "Albert" is a mistake in the 1870 census. His name was simply "Abner Abney."
