Frederick Earl Grim, of Lascassas was devoted to his family and committed to his community. His legacy includes; his devoted wife of thirty-five years, Iris Arroyo Grim, brother, Raymond Arroyo, three children, Priscilla Christine, Frederick Earl and Gregory Andrew, granddaughter, Sophia Bocchieri, In laws, Raimundo Arroyo and Iris Arroyo, Uncle Earl Sherman, Aunt Joycelyn Lankelys and Uncle Ray von Sherman.

From 1966 to 1970 Mr. Grim served with the United States Army in Vietnam. Captain Grim led a platoon and a company in the 101st Airborne Division. He was a soldier decorated for bravery and leadership.

A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Mr. Grim was a respected mechanical engineer who specialized in accident reconstruction and expert testimony. A natural leader, he founded Troop 538, which he led as Scoutmaster for many years at St. Rose of Lima church. He was loved and admired by many.

In 1970 Mr. Grim married Iris Delia Arroyo on the island of Majorca, Spain. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

A dedicated scoutmaster and outdoorsman, Mr. Grim excelled in leading boys to the cusp of manhood. He created an active scouting program at St. Rose of Lima Church. His fondest memories were of leading canoeing trips through Minnesota, fishing in Alaska and hiking throughout the southeast, including the world-renowned Boy Scout camp, Philmont in New Mexico. He also treasured traveling with his wife to Spain.

He passed away on Friday, August 5th after complications due to Esophageal Cancer. Services for Mr. Grim will be at St. Rose of Lima Church at 11 a.m. on Monday - August 8, 2005 with Rev Joseph Breen officiating. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday - August 9th at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans cemetery in Pegram, Tennessee with the Rev. David Garth officiating.
