Susan Ann Stoessel passed away June 26, 2011 at the age of 57.

Following graduation from Kirkwood High School in St. Louis County in 1972, Susan entered Southeast Missouri State University as a Music major. Already an accomplished pianist, she found the program less than challenging, and changed her major to Political Science, graduating in 1976. Then while working for the federal government in Washington DC, she earned a Masters Degree from George Washington University.

Susan enjoyed a fulfilling and successful career as a compliance officer for the US Dept. of Labor, Wage and Hour Division. First in Washington DC and later in St. Louis, she worked to ensure that employees were granted adequate family and medical leave, and that child labor laws were upheld. When her declining health necessitated an early retirement, Susan had advanced to the position of Assistant Deputy Director.

Susan was a devout Christian. Her leisure activities included serving her church, travel, performing music and spending time with her family.
