Funeral services for Nancy Elizabeth Butler of Cordele will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Butler, 79, passed away Monday at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. She was born in Wilcox County and was the daughter of the late Riley Charles and Nettie Irene Smith Calhoun. Mrs. Butler was a homemaker.
She is survived by her her children, Gary Butler and Connie Smith and her husband, Lee, of Cordele; a sister, Marvine Wilkerson; three sister-in-law, Peggy Calhoun, Louise Calhoun, and Inez Calhoun; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wyatt Butler; a son, Tim Butler brothers Jack Calhoun, Felton Calhoun and Harlen Calhoun and sisters, Louise Baker and Euralene Coleman.
