Funeral services for John Foster Brawner, 77, of 919 Monte Vista, a retired warrant officer for the Dallas Police Department, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Ed. C. Smith & Bro. Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Grove Hill Memorial Park.

Brawner died here Thursday. He was born in Smith County and had lived in Dallas 43 years. He retired in 1964.

Survivors: three sons, John B. Brawner,, Edward L. Brawner, and Elvin C. Brawner of Dallas; a daughter, Mrs. Janice Morris of Dallas; two brothers, Dewey Brawner of Dallas and Tom E. Brawner of Houston; five sisters, Mis Addie Brawner of Alvin, Brazoria County, Mrs. Ilene Martin of Dallas, Mrs. Gladys Russell of Houston, Mrs. Louise Wood of Arlington, Va., and Mrs. Lanita Buie of Itasca, Hill County; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
