Deaths Elmer E. Demaree Dead; Funeral To Be Wednesday

Elmer E. Demaree, 73, retired of Kokomo,; Kokomo business man and farmer, died Sunday at 2 a.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital where he had been a patient since Friday. Although his health had been failing for several' years, his condition had unproved Saturday and his death was unexpected.

He was born Nov. 24, 1887, in Cass County west of Galveston and had lived in Kokomo since he was 18. He was employed at the Kokomo Rubber Co. for a number of years, and later owned and operated the Orange Crush Bottling Works. The building in which that business was located remained in his possession after he sold the business. He also held an interest in the Demaree Plastics, Inc., plant here. Until about five years ago he operated the farm where he lived at 100 W, 214 S. Some of the frontage of the farm was sold for suburban lots in recent years. He was a son of William and Sarah Demaree.

Surviving are the widow, Alice Yoder Demaree; a son, Delmar; two stepsons, Harold and Gene Yoder; a brother, Curtis, who made his home with the Demaree family; a sister, Mrs. Arminta Nicholson, Kokomo; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert Bowen, Kokomo; one grandson, one great-grandson, two step grandsons, two step granddaughters, and five nieces.

Mr. Demaree was a, member of the Elks and Eagles fraternal orders.

The body is at the Ellers Funeral Home, where friends may call'after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be conducted in the Ellers chapel Wednesday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Everett Nixon, pastor of the Darrough Chapel Church, in charge. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Cecil Coffey Sr., Chester Clark, Cecil Coffey Jr., Verlih Oilman, John E. Fell and Irvin Greengard
