Dodgeville Adele M. Christensen, age 59, passed away at HospiceCare Inc. on Monday, June, 27, 2011. Adele was born on August 5, 1951, in Tomahawk, the daughter of Richard and Helen (Weizenicker) Meyers. She married Richard Christensen on May 27, 1971. Adele attended St. Mary's High School, the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh, Humboldt State University where she received her Bachelor of Arts (English major) in 1986, and the University of Wisconsin - Madison where she received her Master of Arts in the School of Library and Information Studies in 1991. She then worked as the Librarian for the Highland School District until her retirement in 1997. Adele is survived by her husband, Richard of Dodgeville; her daughter Austin (Brian) Palmer of Barneveld; her son, Graham (Soni) Christensen, and granddaughter, Willow of Dodgeville; her brother Leonard (Cathy) Meyers of Tomahawk; her sister Joan (Bruce) Myers of Lyons, CO; as well as nieces, nephews, many other loving relatives and friends, and her little dog, Annie. Adele was a loving mother and grandmother. She was active in local community projects until she was unable to continue due to her health. She was an avid reader and enjoyed painting, sewing, crafts, and making jewelry. She loved spending time with her family and in the outdoors. She especially enjoyed spending time at her cabin on the Wisconsin River where she grew up. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home in Dodgeville with Fr. Patrick Wendler officiating. Inurnment will be in East Side Cemetery in Dodgeville at a later date.
