Mrs. Julia T. Desmond, 74, 100 North Broom street, wife of the late Cornelius J. Desmond, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. J. Burns, 108 North Clayton street, Jan. 12. She was buried in Cathedral Cemetery last Tuesday following requiem mass in St. Paul's R. C. Church. Her son, the Rev. Paul F. Desmond, of Fort Smith, Ark., was celebrant and was assisted by her nephew, the Rev. Francis J. Desmond, of St. Elizabeth's Church and the Rev. Thomas Lillus, of Texarkana, Ark., subdeacon.

Mrs. Desmond was born in Landenburg, Pa., a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Monihan. Besides Fr. Desmond and Mrs. Burns, she is survived by Lieut. Grace J. Desmond, of the U.S. Army Nurse's Corps, stationed in New Guinea; James E. Desmond, of Philadelphia; Joseph C. Desmond, of New York city; A. Leroy and Arthur Desmond, Mrs. William F. McLaughlin, Mrs. James Quinn, Mrs. John Quinn, Mrs. Hubert Cassidy, all of Wilmington; 28 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. William P. Kelly and Mrs. Mary I. Boehm, of Philadelphia.
