Thomas William Wallace (Tom) 1920 - 2011 Tom was born January 6, 1920 in Coolidge, Texas and went to his eternal home from Bakersfield, California on June 25, 2011. He was the only boy of four children and is survived by two sisters who live in Texas. After a year of courtship, he married Martha Dennis September 9, 1939. Their daughter, Pat, was born in Texas. They came to Wasco, California in 1946 where their son was born in 1948. They lived in Wasco until 1996 when they moved to Bakersfield. They made many friends in Wasco, especially through the First Southern Baptist Church where they attended. Tom served as a Deacon at that church for many years. In Bakersfield, they became members of Stine Road Baptist Church and added to their group of friends. We thank you, friends, for ministering to Tom and his family during this difficult time of separation. Tom was Ranch Foreman for Greg Malofy & Sons for several years before moving into Petgeon's Welding Shop from which he retired in 1987. He always loved working with his hands, especially woodworking. Tom is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Roger Kirby; Donna K. Loveless of California; Wendy C. & husband Donny Martin of Bakersfield; Deena S. & husband Robert Simmons of Spiro, Oklahoma;
Kimberly M. & husband Darryll Burton of Bakersfield; and Thomas W & wife Michelle Wallace of Sidney, Montana and 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; special niece, Jean Wilson; the greatest of friends, Shirley Zimmerman, and Marian Welch. Tom's wife of seventy-one years, Martha "Dennis", preceded him in death in August of last year. Their son, Larry, and one great-grandchild Katelyn Marie Wallace also preceded him in death. There are too many names to mention from Hoffmann Hospice and Glennwood Garden Skilled Nursing staff, but we want you to know we appreciate you so very much for the great care you gave to our loved one. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28th, from 4:00 to 7:00pm at Mission Family Mortuary (531 California Ave, Bakersfield, CA.). Graveside service will be Wednesday, June 29th, at 10:00am at Wasco Cemetery. www.bakersfield.com/obits
