Mr. T.J. Edwards, 82 years of age and a life-time resident of Tattnall County, died at his home near Claxton last Sunday, February 27. He had been in ill health for fifteen years or longer, and his death came as a relief to his continuous sufferings. Mr Edwards was many times honored by his people by offices of trust and responsibility, and he never violated the confidence and trust of his friends and neighbors, and his death puts a pall of gloom over the county. The funeral was held Monday afternoon from the Methodist Church at Claxton. Interment was in Brewton cemetery with Masonic honors, a representation from Rising Sun Lodge of Reidsville, his mother lodge, performing the burial ceremony at his own request.
