CHAPMAN

Rex W. Chapman, 82, of Union City, died Saturday, July15, 2000, at his home.

He was born October 16, 1917, in Homer, to Homer and Estella (Howard) Chapman.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the European theater.

Mr. Chapman was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years before retiring. He was a member of the Masons, American Legion, Royal Oak United Methodist Church and Avon Park (Florida) Presbyterian Church.

On August 31, 1941, he married Irene Connelly in Boulder City, Nevada. She died in 1989.

Surviving are two sons, Richard Chapman of Lake Orion and Larry Chapman of Berkley; two daughters, Linda Feldbusch of Rochester Hills and Mary Ann Blosser of Union City; nine grandchildren; 11great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ray Chapman of Portage and Bob Chapman of East Leroy; and three sisters, Mary VanMiddlesworth of Climax, Marcia Longman of North Adams and JoAnne Lambert of Avon Park, Florida.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Chapman also was preceded in death by a granddaughter.

Services will be held today (Wednesday) at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Coldwater. Burial will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Shriners. The Gillespie Funeral Home in Coldwater handled the arrangements.
