William Franklin Edwards is the son of Nathaniel Edwards and Nancy Jane Chappel Edwards.

William married the love of his life, Susannah Burcham, 18 Oct 1890 in North Carolina.

William and Susan began their married life in Roaring River, North Carolina, their eight children were born there. Pleasant Home Church was their family church.

In 1916, William and Susan moved to Harford County, Maryland. Later they moved to Churchville, Maryland because a real estate agent came to North Carolina and told them about the land of "milk and honey" and "paved roads. "

William and Susan bought the Sloane Place in Churchville, Maryland. It was located on Asbury Lane and Edwards Lane was was about 100 acres, the house was on Edwards Lane. Later they moved and bought a boarding house in Fountain Green, Maryland. Susan cooked for the boarders.

William was listed at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Churchville, Maryland. He and Susan were founding members of the church.

William Franklin Edwards was the manager of a general store owned by Stanley Gentry located in Cooptown, Maryland.

William had an affinity for candy corn as he kept a candy jar at his home and when he went to church he would have candy corn in his coat pockets for the kids .

By 1929 William and Susan bought a big home in Forest Hill, Maryland, then by 1949, William and Susan resided in Conowingo, Maryland with their daughter and son-in-law, Annie and Avery Holbrook until Williams's death in 1959.

A family story goes that William, at 5 years old, fell into his father's (Nathaniel) grave prior to his father's funeral.
