Phillip R. Bell, 61, of Murray died at 10:02 a.m. Wednesday at Lourdes hospital in Paducah.

A native of Calloway County, he was a retired mechanic, a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Marlene Woosley Hurt Bell; one stepdaughter, Patricia Ann Sutherland of Murray; two stepsons, Robert Louis Hurt of Owensboro and Charles Leon Hurt of Lexington; one sister, Fay Johnston of Almo; one half brother, Chester Bell of Detroit; one foster brother, Bobby Reece of Paris, Tenn.; one nephew; and one niece.

Mr. Bell was preceded in death by one daughter, Teresa Bell. His parents were Marvin Bell and Flossie Puckett Bell.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Stewart Cemetery near Almo. The Rev. Kerry Lambert will officiate.

There will be no visitation. J.H. Churchill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
