Bruce Tenold, 59, of Waterloo, passed away June 6, 2011, at Parkview Care Facility. His remains were buried in the St. Ansgar Lutheran Cemetery in St. Ansgar, Iowa, on June 9, with close family attending. A pastor from his care facility officiated.
Bruce was born Aug. 23, 1951, to Vern and Geraldine Priem Tenold. Bruce moved to West Liberty with his family in July of 1969 and worked at Louis Rich. He later moved to Waterloo where he worked at John Deere for several years until severe health issues forced him to quit.
Bruce served his country in Incerlik, Turkey, in the Air Force as a communications specialist in the 1970's. Bruce married Kathy Lane in 1978. The couple had two sons. Bruce loved his sons and his family. He also loved music, anything from the Carpenters to hard rock, and had hundreds of albums. He loved psychological thrillers and horror movies.
Bruce is survived by his sons, Joshua and his wife Jenny Tenold of Alexander City, Ala.; and Matthew Tenold of Opelika, Ala.; his sisters, Jill and Lori Tenold of West Liberty; a brother, Mark and his wife Shanna Tenold of Burns, Tenn.; grandchildren, Gavin and Hayden Tenold; aunts, Grace Tenold of Kensett, Iowa, and Lois Tenold of Albert Lea, Minn.; and a nephew, Corey Tenold of St. Paul, Minn.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Gerine; uncle, Eugene Priem; and many other relatives.
