Carrie was the daughter of Samuel and Dianah Yerber Cobb Gill. She married David Franklin Sharp, on October 21, 1884 in Grainger County, Tennessee. He was the son of Matthew and Rebecca M. Carr Sharp and the widower of Ella B. Sperlin Sharp. Mrs. Sharp helped to raise her stepson, John M. Sharp, to adulthood. In addition, the couple were the parents of Charles, Nellie, Robert H., Minnie G., Dewey Franklin and Mary "Mayme" A. Sharp.

Dying Wish Fulfilled.

Valley View Argent:--Mrs. D.F. Sharp, of Panola, who died last Friday, said a few days before she died that she hoped the ground would be covered with snow when she was buried and wished that Prof. R.C. Adams, a former citizen of that place, but now of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, could be present and sing a song at her grave. When she died the ground was covered with snow and Prof. Adams arrived on the train a few hours after she had crossed over the river. Her wish had been granted for as the body was lowered into the grave in the Richmond cemetery the ground was covered with snow, the deepest snow we have had this year, emblematic of the soul that had gone on before, while Prof. Adams sang her favorite song.
