William was a man of temperate habits, a firm believer in the religion of Christ, he was courteous and aggresive and hesitated at no obstacles, advocated strongly all public improvemnets and better educational facilities, even giving up a portion of his dwelling to be used as a school free of charge. He was the husband of Rosannah Wood Brashear.
