Sylvia A. Jamison, 86, of Washington, died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, December 21, 2003, in Kade Nursing Home, Washington, following a lengthy illness.
She was born March 8, 1917, in Greene County, a daughter of Frank and Sophie Jane Sprowls Barker.
Mrs. Jamison worked for many years at Meadows Racetrack concession counters.
As a youth, she attended Hayes Avenue and Manifold schools.
Mrs. Jamison was a member of Women of Moose Chapter 318 and played for its dartball team.
She was Presbyterian and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
On June 28, 1935, she married Clyde A. Jamison, who died November 20, 1966.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Stansberry of Satellite Beach, Fla., and Pamela Russell of Washington; a son, Perry Jamison of Washington; three grandchildren, Traci Chesley, Tammie Robert and Jason Russell; and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are five brothers, Elzie, Howard, Arthur, Don and Stanley Barker; and a sister, Goldie Vitteck.
JAMISON - Friends of Sylvia A. Jamison of Washington, who died Sunday, December 21, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Hummell & Barnhill Memorial Chapel, 350 West Chestnut Street, Washington, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, James E. Barnhill, director, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, December 29, with the Rev. Gary A. Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
