Scientist. Along with scientist Edward Teller, he was principally responsible for the development of the hydrogen bomb (Stanislaw Ulam determined how to initiate fusion in the H-bomb). While working at Los Alamos on the hydrogen bomb, he also created the 'Monte-Carlo Method' of solving mathematical problems by employing statistical sampling through the use of random numbers-this is widely applied in computer implementations of mathematical software.
