Calvin had been living in Red River, TX when he entered the service and was a member of the 2nd Armored Reconnaissance Company, 2nd Infantry Division.

He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy along the Naktong Bulge in South Korea on September 1, 1950.

Private First Class Adams was awarded the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
