TUSCALOOSA Florence A. Perkins, age 93, of Tuscaloosa, died June 22, 2011, at Heritage Health Care and Rehab. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. today at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Pastor Donald Morgan officiating and Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Perkins, and her son, Charles Earl Perkins.
Survivors include her daughters, Ida Englebert and Mary Jo York (John); her son, Jerry Perkins (Mary Alice); her sister, Louise Tuten; her brothers, Freddy Yerby (Eva) and Preston Yerby (Margo); her grandchildren, Larry Englebert (Sonja), Shirley Sexton (Rusty), Wes Jones (Lisa), Wendy Tingle (Todd), and Renee Martin (Jim); and her great-grandchildren, Russell Sexton, Wayne Englebert, Elijah Mott, Miranda Mott, Taylor Tingle, McKae Tingle, Kalee Jones, and Kegan Jones.
She retired from Partlow State Hospital. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and will be missed by all who knew her.
