RANGER- Delbert Douglas 'Doug' Foster, 80, of Ranger passed from this life surrounded by his family on Monday, September 13, 2004 at his residence. Graveside services were held Thursday, September 16, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Putnam Cemetery in Putnam with Rev. Jerry Speer officiating. Arrangements are under the Direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Ranger.
Mr. Foster was born on January 3, 1924 in Broadmoore, TX to George Eban and Annabell (Wilkerson) Foster. He served his country in the Navy during WWII. Mr. Foster married Lelia Ramsey on December 19, 1942 in Baird, TX. He moved to Ranger in 1956 and worked in the oilfield & ranched and farmed. He was a government trapper for many years working in Crane, Seminole, Jack, Bell, and Eastland Counties. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
He is survived by children Delbert Douglas Foster Jr. and wife Lillian of Utah, Georgia Collins and husband Harvey of Ranger, and Carl Foster of Ranger, brother and sister-in-law Leeman and Joy Foster of Lampassas, sister and brother-in-law Lillie Bell Day and Jerry of San Antonio, 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Lelia Foster on June 30, 2004.
