Harrell D. Quillman, a longtime administrator in the Ferguson-Florissant School District, died Wednesday (Aug. 18, 1993) at Anderson Hospital in Maryville after suffering an aneurysm. He was 81.

Mr. Quillman, of Edwardsville, was principal for 22 years at Lee Hamilton Elementary School before he retired in 1973.

He began his career in the school district as a sixth-grade teacher at Central Elementary School, where he was later appointed principal. He also was principal at Griffith Elementary School for a time before he became head of Lee Hamilton.

Mr. Quillman was born and reared in Norris City in southern Illinois. He earned a bachelor's degree from Illinois College at Jacksonville and a master's degree from Washington University.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at White Mullen Mortuary, 118 North Florissant Road, Ferguson. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the mortuary. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Among the survivors are his wife of 56 years, Olivia A. Quillman; a son, Harrell J. Quillman of St. Peters; two sisters, Irene Ritchey and Madeline Lancaster, both of Kirkwood; and five grandchildren.
