Her obituary:
Mary Mohling
"The Daykin Herald"--June 28, 1946
Mrs. Henry A. Mohling, nee Mary Schwitters, was born January 8, 1874, on a farm northwest of Fairbury, in Jefferson County, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tjark Schwitters. She was baptized in infancy and on April 14, 1889 she was confirmed in Zion Evangelical Church at Gladstone, Nebraska. On February 26, 1893 she was united in marriage with Henry A. Mohling at Gladstone, Nebraska. To this union, eight children were born, all of whom are still living.
The deceased made her home in Nebraska all her life with the exception of one year which, at the age of fifteen, was spent in Illinois. The first years of married life were spent near Gladstone and in 1903 she moved on a farm west of Bower with her husband and family, where she made her home ever since. A short time later she became a communicant member of Immanuel Lutheran church, five miles east of Daykin.
The deceased was in comparatively good health all her life until August 9, 1944, when she suffered a stroke. In the course of time she was able to be up and around again, but she did not regain her full strength. Last Monday morning, June 17, 1946, she suffered a coronary heart attack and departed this life about an hour later at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 8 days.
She leaves to mourn her departure, six sons: Fred and Henry of Wessington Springs, S. Dakota; Will, Edwin and Raymond of north of Fairbury; Herman of Van Nuys, Calif.; two daughters: Anna, at home, and Elsie (Mrs. Otto Friday) of Woodland Hills, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Emil Schoen of Meridian, Idaho.
Her husband preceded her in death February 14, 1937.
Services were held Friday, June 21, at 1:30 p. m., at the house and at 2 p. m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rev. O. R. Heinitz officiating. A mixed quartet sang several numbers which were sung at her husband's funeral several years ago. The quartet was composed of Mrs. James Soukup, soprano; Mrs. Fred Endorf, Alto; Mr. Gerhardt Schmidt, tenor; and Mr. H. G. Butt, bass; Mrs. Lawrence Schmidt, organist.
The pall bearers were: Messrs. Carl Schwisow, Earl Hummel, Edwin Eisenhauer, Arthur Jordening, Gus Zieman, and Henry Schwisow.
Interment was made in Immanuel Lutheran cemetery.
