Alice Armetta (Schmoeger) Alt, 85, of Peru, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at the Ottawa Pavilion.

Private graveside services will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Tonica with Rev. Alex Garncarz, pastor of Zion United Church of Christ, Peru, officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru.

Mrs. Alt was born July 4, 1936 in Spring Valley to Floyd and Virginia (Boyles) Schmoeger. She graduated from LaSalle-Peru High School. She married Thomas F. Alt on November 10, 1956 in Jackson Heights, New York.

Mrs. Alt was a secretary for the Department of the Navy in Washington D.C. and a secretary at Zion United Church of Christ, Peru where she was also a member and volunteer. She also volunteered for many years at the Lighted Way.

Survivors include her children, Tad (Janne) Alt of Houston, TX, Marla (Michael) Neurohr of Ottawa, and Brett (Abigail) Alt of Burnsville, MN; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas F. Alt on May 11, 2014; and her sister, Gretchen Schlosser.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Zion United Church of Christ, Peru.
