Paul Carmen DeNucci
Long Branch

Paul Carmen DeNucci of Long Branch, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 24, 2011 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch. He was trained in photography as a child and captured images of the smoldering Morro Castle at the age of nine. Paul joined the Navy during WW2 for Underwater Demolition Teams as a frogman and photographer in the South Pacific. Upon returning he trained in criminology and newspaper reporting, working for the Daily Record, news services, various town police departments and New York-based daily newspapers. He met his wife Ann at his family's Long Branch Inn before joining the Civil Service, settling in Long Branch and raising two daughters, Judith and Janis. Enthusiasm for cars led to his racing as a member of the Porsche team, to the chagrin of many in law enforcement. Paul is a founding member and former Captain of the Elberon First Aid and a long-time member of the Elberon Fire Company. He served as Monmouth County Photographer beginning in early 1970s until retiring in 1996 garnering a reputation as principled, apolitical employee and consummate joke-teller. Among his favorite activities after retiring was spending quality time with his friends in the Radio Room, especially Ed Elfstrom.

Paul was predeceased by his father Carmen, mother Ella, his sister Arlene and beloved wife of 60 years Ann. He is survived by daughters Judith and her husband John, Long Branch, Janis and her husband Louis, Neptune, and beloved family in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and North Carolina.

Funeral services will be private. Due to his love of animals, if you would like, please make a donation in his name to the Monmouth County SPCA, 260 Wall Street, Eatontown, NJ 07724. You may light a candle of condolence by visiting www.woolleyfh.com.
