Bernice P. Gunnell Zobell, 74, of Cheyenne died June 28 at her home in Cheyenne.

She was born Oct. 9, 1927, in Wellsville, Utah.

She and her family moved to their Cross J. Ranch near Malta, Idaho, where she attended high school and was active in singing groups.

Mrs. Zobell attended the University of Idaho at Moscow, where she met her future husband, Rex S. Zobell.

They were wed Dec. 22, 1948, at the LDS Temple in Idaho Falls, Idaho. After Mr. Zobell graduated from UI in 1949, the couple moved to Montana where Mrs. Zobell was a homemaker.
In 1962, they moved to Cheyenne and retired in 1984.

Mrs. Zobell was active with music in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She helped many children learn songs that she directed. She was also active in other church affairs and in her children's school events.

She is survived by her husband Rex; one brother, Leland F. Gunnell of Wellsville, Utah; four children, Greg G. Zobell of Mesa, Ariz., Ralph R. Zobell of Crem, Utah, Dr. Dwayne D. Zobell of Cheyenne, and Amelia A. Lindstrom of Boise, Idaho; and 18 grandchildren.

Mrs. Zobell was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Gunnell; four brothers; three sisters; and one daughter, Kerri K. Hall.
