Howard A. Vest, 76, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
Born in Summers County Dec. 13, 1892.
Son of the late William R. and Cara Pack Vest.
He had lived his entire life in Summers County and at Nimitz for 22 years.
He was a retired timberman and attended the Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include:
His wife, Opal Harvey Vest;
A son, Carl of Nimitz;
Three daughters:
1. Mrs. Paul Lowe of Nimitz;
2. Mrs. Edward Lilly of Fort Pierce, Fla.;
3. Mrs. Daniel Martin of Kent, Ohio;
Two brothers: Alvis and Charles, both of Beckley; Two sisters, Mrs. Lottie Mann of Beaver, and Mrs. Oscar Meadows of Daniels;
Nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
The body is at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton.
