Mr. Benson, 91, died Feb. 15, 1988 in Univrsity Hospital in Jackson. He was a lifetime resident of Neshoba County and a member of New Zion Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elnora Hancock Benson of Philadelphia; six daughters Mrs. Sybil Wilson, Mrs. Lois Lovern, Mrs. Mattie Sue Alexander all of Philadelphia, Mrs. Itra Peninger of Ackerman, Mrs. Inez Jenkins of Phila., Mrs. Alice Linton of Sanford, N.C.; two sons ,Howard Benson and Willard Benson both of Phila.; 23 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Mrs. Irene Picard of Roland Heights, Calif. and Mrs. Paulette McDill of Jackson; three step-sons, Charles Hancock of Tempe, Ar, Carey Hancock of Metarie, La., and Danny Hancock of Louisville, eight step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs Susie Mae Evans of Canton and two brothers, John Benson and Frank Benson both of Philadelphia.
