Born Sept. 7, 1934, in Wilkes County, she was the daughter of the late Challie A. and Bertha Reynolds Teague.
She was a homemaker and member of the New Hope Baptist Church.
Surviving her is her husband, Robert "Jerry" Kanpe, five godchildren, Debbie Setzer Denton of Greensboro, Robert "Rick" Setzer of Hickory, Lisa Setzer Doucette of Hickory, Lynn Setzer Parlier of Charlotte, and Kennette Dotson of Granite Falls, and their children Adam Doucette, Jordan Doucette, Madeline Dotson, Michael Dotson, Allison Dotson, Annette Dotson, Aaron Parlier and Benjamin Parlier.
She is also survived by seven sisters, Jolene Anderson of North Wilkesboro, Ruby Ballard of Statesville, Ruth Blevins of Salisbury, Reba Minton of West Jefferson, Irene Pennington of Sparta, Georgie Setzer of Hickory, and Judy Shew of North Wilkesboro.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister, Charlie Teague, Alvin Teague, Letch Teague, Roby Teague, Estel Teague, Clint Teague, James Teague, and Virgie Teague Billings.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 25, from 3 to 4 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church.
The funeral will follow at 4 p.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens and will be conducted by teh Rev. Dr. Dale Watts.
Pallbearers will be Cecil Smithey, Chris Smithey, Craig Smithey, Curt Smithey, Cory Smithey, and Greg Dotson.
Honorary pallbeareres will be the Gatekeepers Sunday school class.
The family requests all memorials be made to the New Hope Baptist Church, Building Project, 410 Twenty-sixth Ave., NE, Hickory, N.C. 28601.
