Ethel was born in Coffee Springs, Alabama to Will and Lela Stewart Phillips.

She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Lakeport, a homemaker, and a wonderful mother, friend to many and had a very generous and giving heart. Ethel loved to care for others and had a passion for cooking.

Mrs. Hightower was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, a great grandson, Landon Moore and by two sisters and five brothers.
