Obituary of Norma Jean Pelton Scott

Norma Jean Pelton Scott, 82, of Houston died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007.
She was born May 5, 1925, in Benton,Saline Co. Arkansas to Rose E. Raney and Marion Sanford Pelton.
She met Robert P. Scott Jr. after moving to Houston in 1947. They were married Oct. 9, 1948, at Houston's First Presbyterian Church and remained in that area until a move to Overland Park, Kan., in 1968. They returned to Houston in 1984. The Scotts have been active members of Grace Presbyterian Church since December 1984.
In addition to her husband of 59 years, Mrs. Scott is survived by three children, Priscilla Scott of Pearland, Texas, Elizabeth Scott Burton and husband James Michael of Houston and Robert P. Scott III and wife Deanna of Katy, Texas; five granddaughters, Ashley Burton of Los Angeles, Kathryn Burton of Huntsville, Texas, Hannah Scott, Marian Scott and Amelia Scott of Katy, Texas; two brothers, Hogan Pelton and Robert Pelton and wife Colleen; two sisters, Stella Earney and husband Floyd and Della Lee, all of Arkansas.
Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, in the Founders Chapel of Grace Presbyterian Church, 10221 Ella Lee at the Sam Houston Tollway. Burial was in Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Grace Presbyterian Church Mission Fund, Star of Hope, American Heart Association or a favorite charity.
Family comments: Mrs. Scott was well known for her love of gardening and devotion to the Lord.
