BENNINGTON - Frank Roger Iannelli, 64, died June 23, 2011, at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Aug. 24, 1946, in Providence, R.I., the son of Frank A. and Mary E. (O'Gara) Iannelli.

In earlier years, he was a professional jockey and raced horses at race tracks all over the world. He won his first race at the Narragansett Race Track in Rhode Island. He was a member of the Jockeys Guild. After retiring from racing he continued his career as a trainer in Florida for many years.

In addition to horse racing, Mr. Iannelli enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Iannelli of Pownal; two sisters, Dolores Pruden of Pownal and Deborah Walton of Johnston, R.I.; two aunts and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Green Mountain Christian Center on Main Street.

Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Pawtucket, R.I., at the convenience of the family.
