John William Cool and his wife, Elizabeth,came to Wyoming by covered wagon with his two sons, Charles, Wiley and Wiley's family, in the early 1890's. They homesteaded in the Canyon Spring Prairie, now known as the Four Corners Area. Their early life in Wyoming was difficult and primitive. Their first home was a tent on the Allen Homestead. Elizabeth died in 1919 of smallpox, and John died in 1927 at the age of 89 years. He was known as a good
citizen, kind and loving father and a brave and hardy pioneer.
