Bessie L. Gregory, an amateur oil painter and rock hunter, died Monday in Vancouver. She was 81.
No service will be held at Mrs. Gregory's request. Friends are invited to a buffet dinner at 4 p.m. today at the home of her son, Howard, 6700 N.E. 14th Ave. Mrs. Gregory last lived at that address.
Mrs. Gregory, a retired nurse's aide at the state hospital in Dammasch, Ore., had lived in Vancouver for the last nine years. She was born Aug. 12, 1904, in Vancouver.
She is survived by four sons, Howard of Vancouver, James of Carus, Ore., Roy of Seattle and Dale of Madras, Ore.; three daughters, Florence Beers of Vancouver, Donna Overton of Brush Prairie and Dorothy Scott of Anchorage, Alaska; two brothers, Cecil Brock of Hood River, Ore., and Maurice Brock of Pendleton, Ore.; 24 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
