Services for Gay Watson Aymond will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2004 in the chapel of John Kramer & Son with Rev. Paul A. Roney officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Pineville, under the direction of John Kramer & Son.

Mrs. Aymond, age 70, of Alexandria, died Monday, March 1, 2004 at her home in Alexandria.

She was born in Colfax on Jan. 8, 1934 to the late Lewis L. "Pat" Watson and Grace Fletcher Watson. Paternal grandparents were the late Edgar W. Watson and Fannie Stahl Watson of Colfax and her maternal grandparents, the late Amanuel E. Fletcher and Sally Shaw Fletcher of Verda.

She was a 1952 graduate of Bolton High School and earned her B.S. Degree in mathematics and science at Southeastern Louisiana University in 1956. She was listed in Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities and was an officer in her sorority and a member of numerous other campus groups. She taught at Lecompte High School, Brame Junior High and Alexandria Junior High and thereafter was a leader in the cosmetic industry in central Louisiana. At the time of her death she was secretary/treasurer of Aymond Plumbing & Heating, Inc. She served as past president of Quota of Alexandria and was selected Quotarian of the Year. She also served as a past president of the Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors Women's Auxiliary. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church and was active in WMU and as a Vacation Bible School Teacher.

Mrs. Aymond was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis L. "Pat" and Grace Watson; her brother, Jerry L. Watson; and her great-granddaughter, Jordyn Barnes.

Gay Aymond is survived by her husband of 49 years, Everett L. Aymond of Alexandria; her children, Gregory R. Aymond, Donald W. Aymond and his wife Susan Ribaudo Aymond and Sharon Aymond Lowery and husband Jimmy C. Lowery, Jr., Paula Aymond Barnes and husband Paul E. Barnes; and her sister, Linda Watson Russo all of Alexandria. She is also survived by four grandsons, Charles L. Barnes, Brett M. Lowery, Paul D. Barnes and W. Scott Lowery; two step-granddaughters, Nicol Barnes Morrifield and Jessica L. Barnes; three great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brett M. Lowery, W. Scott Lowery, Paul D. Barnes, Charles L. Barnes, Clifton Wayne Fletcher and Jerry Armand.

Friends are asked to call from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:30 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at John Kramer & Son.

The family respectfully request that memorials be made: Riverview Baptist Church, Sanctuary Fund, 8709 Highway 1 South, Alexandria, La., 71302.
