Bob, with his wife Harriett, moved their family to the Roseburg, Oregon, area in the early 1950s upon his discharge from the Army Air Corp. He was a World War II Veteran having served in England.

He worked with his family in the family logging business and later for Roseburg Lumber Company until his retirement. Bob was a 50 year member of the Lumber and Sawmill Workers Union Local 2949. Bob was a member of the Church of Christ attending services both in Winston, Oregon, and Roseburg churches. He was a member of the American Legion Post 19 in Midland, Texas.

He is survived by son, Alex; daughters: Glenda, Maxine, Sarah; brothers, Floyd; sisters, Ruby Nell Boyd and Murldeen Walters.

Graveside Service were held on Friday, June 17, 2011. Internment was at Brunson Memorial Cemetery, Eunice, New Mexico.
