Frank Benson Monroe was born January 21, 1927, in Spencerville OK to Johnny and Addie Monroe and passed away on June 19, 2011. He served in the U.S. Army, where he received a merit commendation for developing water treatment systems for troops in the Marshall Islands. He returned to Oklahoma and married Mary Lou Snider of Konawa OK in April 1948.

Frank's many jobs included oil fields of Monahans TX, Tinker Air Force Base OK, and Eielson Air Force Base AK. After retiring from civil service after 31 years, he was the gate attendant at Tenkiller Lake in Oklahoma. His hobbies included fishing, bowling, carpentry, leather crafts, boating, and cooking for is family. He really liked building rocking horses complete with detailed saddles.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Fred and Elton Monroe.

Surviving family includes his wife Mary, daughter Linda Monroe, sons Bruce Monroe and Barry Monroe, brother Johnny Dean Monroe of California, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, in-laws, nieces and nephews, and beloved friends.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 22nd, at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with graveside following at Resthaven Memorial Park with Pastor Bill Derrick and Vernon Fletcher.
